Yonder or Wonder. 🙂 A recent stay to this beautiful sanctuary, welcome to a true gem in Somerset West South Africa. We had the most delightful weekend at this place. The only problem is that I wanted to stay permanently! We felt right at home from the moment we walked into the Manor House. The place had been prepared for us and the added personal touch of a lovely bottle of wine, freshly baked bread and some lovely snacks waiting for us on the kitchen table was just the perfect way to set the scene and start our weekend.

It Feels Like Home
During our stay, I could not help but picture myself living in this very special house! It truly gives you the feeling of home. As we enjoyed our weekend at the Manor House as part of the Yonder Hill guest house offering, the sense of belonging is a real wraparound feeling. Every item of furniture has been carefully selected and placed to emulate comfort and a sense of home.

The Manor House is a grand space that speaks to a place where you want to spend time and share experiences. The dining table alone is a 12 seater which you can’t help but want to fill with your nearest and dearest and create precious memories. The house offers everything so that you can linger and relish time with loved ones. You will not want to leave as the space is lovingly created so that every comfort is met. The intent with this house is one to help you relax and enjoy life, savoring special moments.
In the winter months, cozy up near the indoor fireplace with a book from the nearby bookcase and glass of wine. In the warmer months, the outdoors is vast with a swimming pool just a stone’s throw away. The outdoor and sheltered braai or barbeque area is a win for any time of year. The Manor House is opportunely located to enjoy the beautiful mountainous area which also overlooks the estates vineyard. Sunsets are sublime and the peacefulness and stillness of the estate really allows you to reset.
Rooms and Location
The bedrooms upstairs all come as on-suites so it makes traveling with other people really convenient and comfortable as each room has its own space and amenities. The beds are honestly some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on! My family and I all felt so reseted and happy.
Yonder Hill is so well located – if you are traveling from overseas it is a lovely place to be based as it is centrally located for day trips out into other parts of Cape Town. The main town is right down the road so there is full access to shops and anything you might need if you are staying for a long period of time.
If you are staying for the weekend as a local, it is the ideal escape to get away and enjoy an oasis not too far from home.
Yonder Hill is tranquil and as a vineyard, there are wine tastings and a restaurant on the estate which is a must during your stay. The wines are some of the nicest and come with a lovely platter to nibble on while you enjoy the estate wines. The pizzas are absolutely delicious so be sure to order your own as you will not want to share!
The views are sweeping and the feeling of relaxation is pliable. A wonderful place for friends and family to spend time and connect.
